Population (why population grows, reasons )
POPULATION
population typically refers to the number of people in a single area whether it is a city or town ,region, country or the world.
Population is the pivotal element in social studies. It is the point of reference from which all other elements are observed and from which they derive its significance and meaning.
Reason of population growth
Illiteracy = A large population of India is illiterate. illiterate people failed to understand the importance of family planning or the advantages of having a small family .
Child marriage = early marriages are common in many parts of India due to which more percentage of girl are married in the age of group of 15-20 years .This result in giving birth to more number of children.
Lack of female education
Although female access to education has increased over the years the gender gap remains. roughly 1 30 million girls worldwide are out of school currently, and an estimated 15 Million girls of primary school age will never learn to read and write, compared to 10 million boys.
Effects of population growth
It is only logical that an increase in the world's population will cause additional strains or resources .More people mean an increased demand for food, water, housing, energy Healthcare, transportation and more. And all that consumption contributes to ecological degradation increased conflicts, and a higher risk of large- scale disasters like pandemic .
Ecological degradation
An increase in population will inevitably create pressure leading to more deforestation, decreased biodiversity and spikes in pollution and emission, which will exacerbate climate change. Ultimately ,unless we take action to help minimize further population growth heading into the remainder of this century, many scientists believe the additional stress on the planet will lead to ecological disruption and collapse so severe it threatens the viability of life on earth as we know it .
Increased conflicts
